Sweet Seconds

We have 3 children, ages 15, 14 and soon to be 11.  I am convinced they have been sneaking some of those beans from "Jack and the Beanstalk" or someone else is feeding them "Nuclear Wheaties".

I was commenting to a friend the other day that it seems likejust yesterdaythat I was cradling my oldest girl in the nook of my arm, feeding her a bottle.  Although it doesn't quite feel like it when you are in the midst of raising small children, believe me when you get on the back side of rearing the brood, you will understand what I mean by the old expression "my, my, my, how time flies".

What's in a name - Part II

Well, it looks as if we have to end the "Name the Store" competition.  We thank you all for submitting all the wonderful suggestions and we are happy to announce that WE HAVE A WINNER!!!

Our daughter MaryKate came up with a logo to match the name we originally thought of and it's just to darned cute not to use.  We thinkUnder The Chaircaptures that "Je ne sais pas" feeling of a certain style and grace that really does justice to the beautiful furniture we will be offering at the new store.

Online Store now available

It's late Sunday night and I'm proud to say that our online store made its debut tonight.  While still in the beginning stage with only a few products online, I successfully got all the "back room" set up complete and I actually bought something.

Friday afternoon I was thinking to myself, ahhh - finally a slow weekend. I thought maybe I could catch a nap or two, enjoy a nice Manhattan and relax.  Well, I'm here to tell you, my wife (Mrs. Boss) had other plans for me.  After outlining her goal for the weekend, we both embarked on this mini-crusade.

What I like about shopping

Like any other guy, I've never been one much for shopping, while my better half possesses that "shop till you drop" stamina, which is howAddicTreasurescame to be - but that's a story for another day.  When we began, I was the guy in the backroom, taking care of shipping, receiving, moving, storage and the multitude of those unseen chores that makes our store a success.

In the evolution of our young business thusfar, a change is occurring that I am happy to see.
