Shopping Between Seasons

A trip to the mall with my beautiful seventeen year old daughter this afternoon, confirmed why I opened my own boutique. Cookie cutter stores, overflowing with price slashed wintery pieces and crowded with customers in search of that eye-catching item at an attainable price.
Turn your attention and wallet away from winter, and shop for spring now.  Those sleeveless tops or skirts displayed in all stores as a promise of the warm weather to come can be layered. Add a pair of tights and a jacket to these delicate sorbet shades and you are ready to face the still cool temperatures with pieces that will easily transition you into the warm weather.

Shopping Event for the LMHS Football Moms

Last night, my handsome Joe and Joey were watching Thursday night football. The camera turned to the sideline, and one player waved and mouthed, "Hi Mom". I smiled to myself!

My Joe  just finished his second season on the LM High School Football team. He's a part of the team: jerseys, cleats, mud and laughter. He loves it, and I must be honest, so do I! See, I am part of the team also, the team behind the team, the Moms! We attend the games day or night , rain or shine, hot or cold.

A Sweet Taste of History

With today being the unofficial end of summer, and the opening of school just hours away (stop, get up, do the happy dance, sit back down) It is time to resume our normal activities….first item on the list, Wine and Cheese!  Please join us this Friday, September 7 for our weekly event. In addition, this week , we will be sampling Malted Milk Balls. Yes, that is what I said, we will be sampling a variety of flavored malted milk balls. Now before you can think up excuses, let me give you some fun facts about this classic candy treat!

Small Business Saturday

Backroom Joe here again.  I know it's been a while since we chatted, life has been crazy-busy as I'm sure you'll agree.  It seems like just last week we were getting ready for Memorial Day and now . . . the advent of Old Man Winter is just around the corner.

My work has been steadily busy over the past few months and with all the football games and such, there has been little time to be involved with AddicTreasures but last Saturday I had a chance to run the store for the day and get re-acquainted with life in the Valley Courtyard.

One Year Anniversary

Backroom Joe here again.  Sorry that I haven't been blogging for a while, my businessCapital Supply Management (www.capsupman.com) has been enjoying success and I've been busy.  That's a good thing in this crazy economy, at least in my business.
Anyway, I'm not here to toot my own horn, there's a much prettier horn that needs tootin' - that beingRose Nihill and her wonderful storeAddicTreasures!  It's hard to believe but we are coming up on our One Year Anniversary this October 1st.

A new fall line-up

It's hard to believe we're at the end of Summer.  Our days of sun and fun are nearly over and it's time to start thinking about school, sports, homework (and keeping the dog from eating it), and all the other fun family stuff.  Before too long, you're gonna say to yourself "enough is enough - I need a break!"

Well, while you have been sitting seaside dipping your tootsies in the Atlantic, shaking to the occasional earthquake and braving Irene, we've been busy gathering new AddicTreasures friends who have some hot new jewelry, fashion items, home decor, gift baskets, candles, cosmetics and more!

You may want to stop by tonight . . .

The forecast for tomorrow calls for end of days with a chance of rapture.

Are you prepared?  If you answered "no", I suggest you stop byAddicTreasuresfor our "pre-rapture" wine & cheese soiree tonight and to "bling up" - nobody wants to meet their Maker without looking great!

Changing with the times

Did you ever see the movie "Groundhog Day"?  A television news crew, featuring Bill Murray, goes to Punxsatawney, PA, to do a story on whether or not Phil sees his shadow.  Along the way, something strange happens to Murray, he finds himself stuck on February 2nd day after day after day after day - constantly doing the same thing, time and again, until he finally figures out what and how to do the right thing.  I can still hear Sonny & Cher singing "I Got You, Babe" and who could ever forget that catchy tune "The Pennsylvania Polka"?

Under The Chair

I've been pondering the name of the new store . . .Under The Chair, and it does have a certain "Je ne sais pas que" that keeps growing on me.

The picture and logo my daughter came up with also seems to fit nicely, having that sense of antiquity yet modern elegance, you can almost hearEdith Piaf singing "Hymne À L'Amour".

It wasn't until last night, however, that it all made perfect sense.  We just unloaded the 2nd truck of furniture and before going home, I looked around the store and took it all in for a long moment and damned if it didn't become crystal clear!

The Price Is Right . . .

A customer came in the other day and, as usual, was pleasantly surprised to see the diversity and variety of merchandise atAddicTreasures.

While shopping, she made comment to the quality and great prices.  To us, this is not surprising, but something she said made me think.  She told me that her initial impression of the beautiful 17th century building we occupy and it's classic look was that it may be one of those places with really high prices.

Well, I'm here to tell you that
