I have been thinking about that questions the past few days. Let's take the name of our store, for example. When we started AddicTreasures, someone asked if this is a consignment shop. The answer to that is no, no and no! Although we do have a couple of items that were given to us from estates, those are the exception to the rule. 98% of what we have is new merchandise. The name AddicTreasures is a play on words, and a wikipedia definition would go something like this: Addict - meaning "I need that"; "got to have it"; "really want it"; "wow, that's something that I won't find at the mall". Treasures - meaning "that's exactly what I've been looking for"; "that would look great in our home"; "talk about sparkling, eye catching bling . . ."; "those chocolates are delicious". So there you have it - AddicTreasures, simply put, is a catchy name that describes our wonderful merchandise that is unique and unusual for you and your home! Now comes our dilemna. We just sealed a deal and will be offering furniture and we're in the final stage of preparations to open another store in the Valley Courtyard, across from Lens Friends, later this month. Hummm, what to name the store? We have racked our brains for the past two days, trying to come up with a name for this new venture, something that will describe the different styles of furniture we will be offering, ranging from traditional & elogant, shabby chic, and the more popular distressed look Rosie came up with a name, "Under the Chair" based on the old nursery ryhme "Pussy Cat, Pussy Cat, where have you been . . ." Kind of catchy, don't you think? But we're not settled on it. We were wondering if we held a "name the store" contest and let you tell us your thoughts on a name that would 1.) describe the store and 2.) a name that will stick in your mind and make you want to come look at what we have to offer. When you see all the beautifully crafted items, you'll know why we are offering these furniture lines. They just can't be found anywhere else in the area. Also, you will LOVE the prices!!! So please give it some thought and get back to us with your suggestions. If we pick your suggestion, you'll receive a $50.00 gift certificate for anything in AddicTreasures or the new store.
