Like any other guy, I've never been one much for shopping, while my better half possesses that "shop till you drop" stamina, which is how AddicTreasures came to be - but that's a story for another day. When we began, I was the guy in the backroom, taking care of shipping, receiving, moving, storage and the multitude of those unseen chores that makes our store a success.
In the evolution of our young business thusfar, a change is occurring that I am happy to see. We started out with a select number of products, but along the way we found new vendors to compliment our original cast, who have really hit the mark on finding the unique and unusual products that are displayed in AddicTreasures. We are proud to say there are now over a dozen different vendors in the store, and more to come over the next month.
Now the trouble we have is where to put everything; a nice problem to have. We've considered moving to another (bigger) location within the Valley Courtyard, but decided against that idea, not wanting to lose the charm and atmosphere of our current location. The exposed stone and brick walls really provide a cozy and comfortable setting for a different kind of shopping experience.
Now, getting back to the point of this blog. While I've never been a fan of shopping, what I really get a kick out of is being out front, meeting everyone and taking care of their purchases. I've always been a "people person" and recall my Mother telling the story of when I was very young and invited the trashmen (Hut and Fitch) in for breakfast one morning. You should have seen the look on her face!
To this day, I still have that same funny habit of inviting new people in to our home or store and occassionally, my wife gets that same look on her face . . . last Friday, a new friend "Buddy" was amazed when I greeted several women who were just finishing dinner at Tavolo's restaurant and enticed them with my boyish charm (and good looks) to visit our store. Needless to say, they were amazed to find a place like AddicTreasures, and they happily left some time later with the treasures they found.
For those of you who have been to AddicTreasures, we hope you have had a pleasant experience and we thank you for your business. You have become our friends, our extended family. From the feedback we received so far, we believe that our unique way of doing business is working. Our Friday evenings are a success and a lot of fun for everyone including us.
If you have not yet visited AddicTreasures or just haven't been there in awhile, stop in, we're certain that you will be happy that you did.
Please check the Events page on our website from time to time to make sure you don't miss out on our Friday evening soirees, periodic sales events or our (soon to come) Mimosa Sundays! You can also check out our Now On Sale page to see the current bargains to be had.
If you can't make it on the weekends, stop in during the week (Tuesday - Friday) and we're positive you will enjoy meeting Joanne Santo, our Store Manager. She is possibly the most pleasant person in the world and she will be happy to take good care of you.
We look forward to your visit.
